Move the Screen totally to the right - on the right Side is a small black Dot - S W I T C H the Rods (Floatrod must be on the right Side) - cast the Float between 36 - 40 Feet between the Dot and the Screenborder - use on this Place Cloud Bait for Groundbait and Butter Beans (3 Pieces) for Loosefeed (any cast or any second cast - find it out) - the Ledger Rod cast to the same Place (here it is important that the Bait slowly sink) - after Bottom reach cast new with the Ledger Rod.

River Camel / Peg One - Tourney Date/Time = June 22.2002 / 16.00 (4pm)

same Setup for both Rods :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Fishing Reel with 20 lb Monofilament Mainline
16er Barbed Hook with 15 lb Monofilament Hookline
Attachment = FS Cork 7 on 3 inches above Hook
Detector = you donīt need it - but I had let it on Polaris Ledger Float LITE
Bait = Maggots ( Full Size - 5 Pieces/Full Hook )
           Lobworm ( 2/5 Size - 1 Piece )
           Much Baits work here - but Maggots and on second Place Lobworm work at best.

First I want say this is a FLYFISHINGVENUE - so are this tip isnīt for flyfisher - but all methods and baits was allowed in this tourney and so i used this setup/baits.

First scroll the screen to right - then cast with both rods in the middle of the screen close to the other riverside - let the bait run till 50 Feet then cast new - if you get a bite wait till the second splash (or between the first and the second splash - cuz some fishes splash only once a time) then set the strike - this method work same as a dryfly (therefore i used the FS Cork).

Bait = Brandling (size 4/5 - 1 piece)

WATCH OUT !!! - THIS TIP IS ONLY FOR THE OLD VERSION OF SALMON RIVER  - NOT FOR THE NEW ONE - WHAT IS ONLY FOR FLYFISHING !

First scroll the Screen to the left Side - then cast short (to the brown Spot in the middle of the screen) - let the Bait run between 50 - 100 Feet - then recast - another good Spot is the Shoreline straight ahead (around 39 - 40 Feet) - set Hook on the right Rod after the second Splash - it work same as a Topwaterlure or Dryfly.

Shoreline / Off the Rocks - Tourney Date/Time = April 23.2003 / 8.00 (8am)

Left Rod :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Fishing Reel with 50 lb Monofilament Mainline
Slider Float on 6 Feet above Hook / Depht = 14.9 Feet
10er Barbed Hook on 30 lb Monofilament Hookline
Attachment = Digitherm close to Hook
Bait = garfish (size 3/8 - 1 piece)

Right Rod :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Fishing Reel with 50 lb Monofilament Mainline
10er Barbed Hook on 30 lb Monofilament Hookline
Attachment = Digitherm close to Hook
Rig selection = Freeline or *rolling Ledger* (Fixed Ledger or Paternoster with a small Weight)
Bait = garfish (size 3/8 - 1 piece) or Scallops (size 3/5 - 1 piece)

Set yourself a Border how far the baits shall drift (mine was 300 feet) - cast both rods (donīt matter where - maeby left rod a bit left and right rod straight ahead or a bit right) and wait for bites - itīs a difficult venue and the time run in double speed - the most bites I got between 8am and 11am.

Siluris / Peg one - Tourney Date/Time = January 20.2002 / 1.00 (1am)

Both Rods same Setup :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Fishing Reel with 80 lb Monofilament Mainline
8er Barbless Hook with 50 lb Monofilament Hookline
Digitherm close to Hook
Weight = Arlesey 1 oz
Rig selection = Pater Noster (on 2 Feet)
Bait = JPP Roach (Full Size - 1 Piece)
Loosefeed = Cut Pilchard (3 Pieces)

I found 3 spots to cast and get bites :
1) left side in the big bright area on 18.11 Feet
2) straight ahead on the right one of the 2 big treeshadows between 80 - 83 Feet
3) right side on the left side of the small bright area on 18.11 Feet

IMPORTANT ! - you must find a O2 of 5.81 - 5.83 (on 8.31 I got no bites).

My Technic =  I cast ever 1 rod short and the other long - I start with the left rod on the left side (18.11 Feet) and
                         cast the right Rod long in the middle(80-83 Feet) - then Loosefeed on both spots - if I donīt get a bite
                         after 2 ―  minutes I use again Loosefeed there - after 5 min I change the spots (left Rod long in the
                         middle of the screen on 80 - 83 Feet - right Rod to the right side (18.11 Feet)) - again Loosefeed to
                         both spots and after 2 ― min again - after 5 min I change the Rods again (right Rod in the middle -
                         left Rod to the left side) - each 5 min I change the rods and each 2 ― min I use Loosefeed.

On this way I got 8 - 11 bites in 1 hr each time I was there (a problem will be to set the Hook - cuz I missed or lost any time 60 percent of the bites (once a time I got a linesnap - try then another linesetup 100 / 80 Monofilament).

Snipe Lake No. 1 / The Odd Surprise - Tourney Date/Time = July 19.2003 / 10.00 (10am)

In this tourney was only catfish allowed to catch - so that tip is only for this specie.

Left Rod :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Fishing Reel
with 30 lb Monofilament Mainline
10er Barbed Hook with 25 lb Monofilament Hookline
Detector = Polaris Ledger Float LITE
Attachment = Digitherm close to Hook
Rig selection = Freeline
Bait = DB Freshwater Fish Piecis (size = full - 1 piece)

Right Rod :
same Setup
Bait = JPP Roach DB (size = 1/20 - 1 piece)

Cast with the right rod to the dark spot at the shoreline on the right screenborder (between 120 - 150 feet - you need a watertemp under 17 degree (better under 16) and light under 60 (better under 50) - best I found was TEMP15.67 / LIGHT48 ) and wait for bites. With the left rod cast left side to the dark area at the shoreline (around 125 feet - same here - look for the lowest watertemp and light) - if you want to use loosefeed take 2 piece DB Freshwater Fish Piecis therefor.

Rig selection = freeline
Bait = DB Eel (full Size - 1 Piece)
          JPP Roach (1 piece - try out the size)

Look for a watertemp of 17 degree and a lightfactor of around 63 (right and left side around 30 feet or closer).

Stratford upon Avon Canal Basin / Peg 1 - Tourney Date/Time = July 13.2002 / 10.00 (10am)

Left Rod :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Fishing Reel with 15 lb Monofilament Mainline
16er Barbed Hook with 12 lb Monofilament Hookline
DH6 No 4 Float on 2.7 Feet above Hook
Bait = Plum Boilie (size 1/5 piece 1 - on Hair Rig)
          Banana Tutti Pop-Up (size 2/5 - 1 piece with FS Shot SSG  3 inch above Hook)
          Tutti Fruitti Boilie (size 1/5 - 1 piece on Hair Rig)
          Fruit Fusion Boilie (size 1/5 - 1 piece on Hair Rig)
          Curried Meat (size 2/5 - 1 piece)

Right Rod :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Fishing Reel with 15 lb Monofilament Mainline
16er Barbed Hook with 12 lb Monofilament Hookline
Detector = Polaris Ledger Float LITE
Rig selection = Freeline
Bait = same like on left Rod

This is a venue where you can cast a blank Hook and you get a bite - but it seems that Fruit Baits work best there (for bigger Fishes use the Banana Tutti Pop-Up - less bites but bigger Fishes) - you can cast anywhere and shoud get bites between 3 - 5 seconds.

The Whitsundays (Qld) / Mountain View - Tourney Date/Time = July 18.2003 / 8.00 (8am)

Left Rod :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Fishing Reel with 50 lb Monofilament Mainline
16er Barbed Hook with 30 lb Monofilament Hookline
Digitherm close to Hook
Detector = Polaris Ledger Float
Rig selection = Freeline
Bait = Scallops (2/5 Size - 1 Piece)

Right Rod :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Fishing Reel with 50 lb Monofilament Mainline
16er Barbed Hook with 30 lb Monofilament Hookline
Digitherm close to Hook
Detector = Polaris Ledger Float
Weight = Arlesey 1/8 oz
Rig selection = Pater Noster
Bait = Scallops (2/5 Size - 1 Piece)

First scroll the Screen to right - then cast with the right Rod straight ahead between 22 - 45 Feet - also with the left rod (22 - 45 Feet) but a little more right - important is that you get a watertemp under 20 Degree and Light under 40 (29 - 35 is good) - let the Baits run till Watertemp and Light will be to mad (mostly between 60 - 80 Feet) - then cast new.

The Zander Pit / Peg one - Tourney Date/Time = April 09. 2002 / 12.00 (12am)

Left Rod :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl II Boat Fishing Reel with 50 lb Monofilament Mainline (or the High Speed Reel - but it is slow to get Fish in)
30 lb Monofilament Hookline
Digitherm on ― Feet above Lure
Lure = Bullfrog (3 - 4 click on High Speed Reel - slowest Speed on Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Reel - get bigger Fishes but
            less bites)
            Splutterbug (same speed Settings)

Right Rod :
8" Stiffer Boat Rod
Shimano Tdl30 II Boat Fishing Reel with 50 lb Monofilament Mainline
10er Barbed Hook with 30 lb Monofilament Hookline
Detector = Polaris Ledger Float Lite
Digitherm close to Hook
Rig selection = Freeline
Bait = DB Freshwater Fish Picies, DB Smelt, DB Roach (size = 2/5 or 3/5 - 1 Piece)

With the lure cast left side close to the weed (look for watertemp above 15 degree) - then click autoreel - set hook after second splash (while reelin set the reelspeed on full - but donīt forgett to set it back on slow at the new cast). With the Ledger Rod cast right between 20 - 50 Feet - bites will come fast and you must set the hook very quick (cause the perch bite and run away in the same second). Also you can use both rods for ledgering (maeby itīs the better method) - therefor use the setup of the right rod.
